4.Characteristics

A kind of dosage the biggest, most versatile, comprehensive property and excellent corrosion resistant alloy.
Excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas medium.
Good corrosion resistance to hot strong alkali solution.
Corrosion resistance to neutral solution, water and sea water, atmosphere, organic compounds, etc corrosion.
An important feature of the alloy is that generally does not produce stress corrosion cracking, good cutting property.

6.Corrosion Resistance

Excellent corrosion resistance to fluorine, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives,
Better corrosion resistance to seawater than copper base alloy.
Acid medium：
Corrosion resistance in the sulfuric acid whose concentration is less than 85%. One of very few materials showing resistance to hydrofluoric acid.
Water corrosion：
Good corrosion resistance as well as pitting and stress corrosion ,and the corrosion rate less than 0.025mm/a.
High temperature corrosion：
The highest temperature of continued working is generally around  in the air. In the high temperature steam, corrosion rate is less than 0.026 mm/a. 
Ammonia：
Since the high content of nickel, the alloy can show corrosion resistance under the condition of anhydrous ammonia and ammonification(≦585℃)

7.Applications

Monel400 is a kind of multi-purpose material, used in many industrial fields:
(1).Seamless water pipe, steam pipe of power plant.
(2).Seawater exchange and evaporator.
(3).Sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid environment.
(4).Crude oil distillation.
(5).Used in sea water pump shaft and the propeller of the equipment.
(6).The nuclear industry used in the manufacture of uranium refining and isotope separation equipment.
(7).Manufacturing production equipment such as hydrochloric acid pump and valve.
